Mlingua enables multilingual communication through real-time voice transcription, translation, walkie-talkie messaging, and optional video calls. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it when you use the application.

1. Permissions We Request

Mlingua only requests permissions required for core functionality:

Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO) — used during active translation or walkie-talkie sessions to capture speech for transcription and translation. The app does not listen in the background.
Camera (CAMERA) — used only during video calls to capture and transmit live video.
Photos / Storage — used only when you choose to upload a profile picture from your device gallery.

Permissions are never used for surveillance, background monitoring, or advertising purposes.

2. Voice and Audio Processing

When a translation session is active, audio is securely transmitted to processing services for speech recognition and translation generation.

Audio is processed transiently
Audio is not permanently stored unless required for session functionality
The app does not record outside active sessions

3. Information We Collect

Speech audio during active sessions
Generated transcriptions and translations
Account details (email, username, subscription tier)
Device identifiers and app diagnostics
Optional profile photo if uploaded

We do NOT collect sensitive personal attributes such as race, religion, or political affiliation. Payment data is handled by certified third-party processors and not stored by Mlingua.

4. How We Use Information

Provide translation and transcription services
Enable voice and video calls
Maintain accounts and subscriptions
Improve reliability and performance
Provide user support

We do not sell or trade personal data.

5. Third-Party Services

Mlingua may rely on trusted infrastructure and processing providers (such as speech engines, cloud infrastructure, analytics, or crash reporting). They receive only the minimum information required to perform their function and are contractually required to protect it.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Operational data is kept only as long as necessary to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting:

We will honor deletion requests subject to lawful retention obligations.

7. Security

8. Children

Mlingua is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and it will be removed.
